Crochet Along Block 3

At this point you should have four or six finished squares, depending on how many of each you're doing. If you're just joining us, don't panic! The squares work up quickly and you can easily catch up, patterns are available here.

This is called Baby Bubble stitch, to create the stitch, work one single (UK double) crochet and two double crochet (UK treble crochet) into one stitch, then skip two stitches and do it again ...all the way across. It creates a lovely, squishy, reversible fabric. On to the pattern!

Tips and Tricks

It says it in the pattern but it's worth repeating as it was slightly confusing in your written patterns (if you're just using this version, ignore this!) but there are 12 bobbles across the block, each comprising of 1sc, 2dc (UK 1dc, 2tr). These 12 bobbles of 3 stitches each makes 36 stitches which is what you want, hurrah! It's worth counting every now and again to check your stitch count is right.

You may have heard others talking about sorting out the size of their squares when they block them. If you aren't sure what this means, have a look at our short guide to blocking your work.
