Crochet Along Block 6

Hello and welcome to block number 6. This block is created with five bands of alternating moss stitch (or granite, sand and linen stitch, it's a many faced stitch) and single/double crochet. Moss stitch is a really great stitch to have in your repetoire, when done like this in a sinlge colour it creates beautiful texture and when you alternate colours each row it looks wonderful. Have a look on pinterest for examples, it's a simple and super effective stitch. Make sure you read Sarah's tip below the pattern text to head off any potential tension issues!

Tips and Tricks

Tip

"When doing the sections that are in moss stitch, I went up 0.5mm hook size, and then for back to my usual size for the single crochets. In my case I used a 5.0mm for moss stitch and 4.5mm for the single crochet."

Tip

Again we have pesky hiden stitches as the end of rows so you may want to whip out your stitch makers to make them easy to find and make sure you're doing a stitch count often so that you don't find you've got a trapezoid after 10 rows!
